Circular Functions

The functions describing the horizontal and vertical positions of a point on a circle as a function of angle (cosine and sine) and those functions derived from them:

cotx=1/(tanx)
(1)
=(cosx)/(sinx)
(2)
cscx=1/(sinx)
(3)
secx=1/(cosx)
(4)
tanx=(sinx)/(cosx).
(5)

Circular functions are also called trigonometric functions, and the study of circular functions is called trigonometry.
